Description: We created "The Future of Mesoamerica", a public art series for the Clinton Foundation that merges 3D nature imagery with urban settings to promote sustainability. During a presentation for Hillary Clinton on providing advanced technology and educational resources to bipoc communities, we crafted an immersive experience that combines phone and headset mediums. Our augmented reality mural reveals a 2-story Mesoamerican pyramid in a forest with butterflies flying out into the user's surroundings, showcasing the ancient art of muraling with digital overlays. We also developed an audio-reactive AR headset experience, where plants sprout from the floor and dance around the user, aiming to strengthen our connection with nature and express our cultural heritage through innovative mediums.
Beyond the Canvas: An Afrofuturism AR Gallery Showcasing Chicano and Black Innovation [2022]
Description: “Beyond the Canvas” displayed at the Chatsworth Artisan Festival, fuses AR paintings with the Chicano-futurism aesthetic to bring the elements of the painting to life in 3D. Visitors engage with the artwork through their mobile devices, activating 3D elements that emerge from the canvas. This pioneering project challenges biases against minorities in art and technology and showcases that diverse cultures are not only foundational and forward-thinking but are also actively innovating and creating new experiences for the future. Collaborating with MetaKulture, we were nominated as finalists in the 2022 Snapchat AR Lens Fest Competition and established ourselves as official Snap AR Partners.
